We’ve narrowed down the key ingredients to cycling in the the desert. You have to bring twice as much water as you think, and your butt is going to develope some “issues”. There has been some googling of saddle sores already.
Aside from that we’re doing pretty good I think. We put in 93 miles the third day and ended up camping on the side of the road in the middle of nowhere. Full moon, ramen, not so bad. I’ll upload some more photos from the previous days when we get wi-fi. Right now I’m at the Trona library and the librarian is not pumped i came in 15 mins before she closed. Stay tuned and I’ll tell you about the town with nine churches, one restaurant, and 1/2 of a grocery store.
We’re waking up at dawn to tackle 75 miles deep into Death Valley. Wish us luck.
gotta pick up some chamois butter, or as I call it…taint paint!
